Freed Families
Redemption from Slavery Project (2023–2024)
Summary Report
Through the generous support of Humanitarian Projects International Inc. (HPI) Australia, HEAL Foundation Pakistan successfully freed 10 brick kiln families from bonded labor by fully paying off their debts to the brick factory owners.
Following their release, each family received three months of food assistance and housing rent support to help them transition into a life of dignity. HEAL Foundation continued to support and monitor these families, who have not returned to brick-making and are now working as daily laborers at alternate sites. Some families have even managed to send their children to school, marking a significant shift toward a brighter future.
Ongoing Challenges:
Despite their freedom, these families remain vulnerable. Many are still struggling financially and have expressed the need for:
Cash grants to start small businesses.
Livestock support to earn a sustainable income.
Voices of Gratitude:
The freed families have expressed heartfelt thanks to HPI Australia and HEAL Foundation Pakistan for transforming their lives. They now dream of a stable, independent future and pray for continued support to build on this newfound freedom.
