One-Day Breast Cancer Awareness Workshop

The Catholic Women Organization of Faisalabad, in collaboration with HEAL Foundation Pakistan, successfully held a one-day awareness workshop on breast cancer at the Catholic Church in Chak No. 235/RB Niamuwana.
The event began with a scripture reading and prayer led by Pastor Mr. Shahbaz Masih. A warm welcome was extended by Mr. Shahbaz Gill, CEO of HEAL Foundation, along with Ms. Gulria and Mrs Lubna Shahbaz Vice Chairpersons. Special appreciation was extended to the event coordinator Ms. Sumaria (CWO) and Dr. Arooj Khalid, who served as the lead facilitator.
Mrs. Lubna Shahbaz introduced the theme, highlighting the importance of breast cancer awareness in rural and underserved communities. Dr. Arooj Khalid then led an engaging and accessible session, providing clear, practical information that resonated especially with the 90+ women in attendance, many of whom were being introduced to this topic for the first time.
The session was highly appreciated by the participants, particularly middle-aged and elderly women, who expressed gratitude for the knowledge shared. The session was registered and documented for record purposes.
Recommendations:
Increased budget to provide refreshments for participants in future workshops.
Development of educational materials in Urdu to improve accessibility and understanding.
This impactful initiative not only raised awareness but also fostered a strong sense of community and empowerment among women.
